Introduction: Hi! Thanks Rena for referring me. After a 20+ year career in finance I am now looking to transition in to non-profits. I've served and continue to serve on various boards and am currently the Interim ED at a small non-profit that is dissolving.
How did you learn of this Meetup?: Career transition.
Why do you want to participate in the NYC Professional Fundraiser and Grantmaker Meetup, and what event format would be most desirable?: I was referred by a fellow member, Rena Penata. She knows my experience and background supporting the marketing team including the corporate foundation at JPMorgan Chase.
What is the most interesting aspect of working in the nonprofit sector?: For me it's the ability to give to those in need. I feel that there is so much untapped potential and people just need someone to give them a chance.
If you started a new business, what would it be?: Either non-profit consulting where I can help a non-profit strategize & grow or something completely different like a small catering business. Clients would choose the theme. I would take care of everything from invites to decor/food and thank yous.
