  for Co-working geared towards startups\, innovative technology companies\,
  non-profits\, artists and social entrepreneurs.  Join us for a no-host Hap
 py Hour at the Blacksmith Restaurant to meet and network with other entrepr
 eneurs\, angel investors\, the Tech Alliance of Central Oregon and others i
 nterested in building this community.  We'll meet in the lounge area of the
  Blacksmith\, up the ramp and to your right as you walk in to the restauran

DESCRIPTION:BendTech Meetup\n\nThe book to be discussed is entitled The Inn
 ovator's Dilemma: The Revolutionary Book that Will Change the Way You Do Bu
 siness.  I haven't had a chance to look at the book yet.  For now\, the Boo
 k review summary will have to do:       "The author\, an associate professo
 r at Harvard Business School\, asks why some well-managed companies that st
 ay on top of new technology and practice quality customer service can still
  falter. His own research brought a surprising answer to that question. Chr
 istensen suggests that by placing too great an emphasis on satisfying custo
 mers' current needs\, companies fail to adapt or adopt new technology that 
 will meet customers' unstated or future needs\, and he argues that such com
 panies will eventually fall behind. Christensen calls this phenomenon "disr
 uptive technology" and demonstrates its effects in industries as diverse as
  the manufacture of hard-disk drives and mass retailing. He goes on to offe
 r solutions by providing strategies for anticipating changes in markets."
