About Pennsylvania Concerned Contractors
This Meetup is formed to help all who are concerned with the future of the construction industry in Pennsylvania network and come together to work on common goals.
We have identified three important issues that will be our focus for now:
1. Single prime bidding in public work.
The Pa. Supreme Court issued a controversial decision in November of 2007 allowing school districts to apply for a waiver of the Separations Act and bid jobs with a single prime contract. At least 16 waivers have already been approved already in 2008. This will be devastating to MEP's and we need to act immediately.
2. Eliminate the cost of multiple municipal licenses. This has been a problem for a long time and together we can work to change it.
3. Paid when paid and mechanic liens. There's no good reason why we can't get something positive done about this.
Other issues can be identified in the future.
